The situation, uncovering the challenges
With the opportunity to relocate its campus to a building that suits its educational foundations, Excelsia University College needed expert consultancy to define the relocation scope and plan the complex logistics involved in relocating an entire campus.
Transition was engaged based upon the scale and complexity the University presented — our expertise came to the forefront in the careful planning to relocate the university library, staff and student items, plus a large Performing Arts faculty (CAPA) which is home to musical instruments (grand pianos, drum kits etc), sound equipment, lighting, staging, props, hundreds of metres worth of costumes and more.
Our solutions
Transition collaborated with the University’s leadership to develop a detailed and easy to follow relocation programme, ensuring everyone understood what was moving while classes remained in session. It was critical to clear spaces by faculty and maintain a sequence to ensure that staff had items in the correct space when needed to continue their classes. Throughout this process, we worked closely with the client to mitigate scope creep and maintain alignment as project objectives evolved and final touches to new storage spaces were made.
